Radio 2 Hyde Park
Off to Hyde Park today. Taking our 7 year old to her first festival. Sure she'll love it (especially as she's force fed ELO in the car!

Any of you cunts going?

Didn't know about it but would prob have gone had I known. Was a massive ELO fan when Out of The Blue came out and for several years after.

I don't know if it was cunning forward planning or not, but by adopting the massive ball of hair and large face covering sunglasses look back then, Jeff Lynne can now effectively look exactly the same now as he did then.

ELO Soundcheck is rocking. Really sounding tight.

Bring it on.

Pick of the bill is Bellowhead.

It's on the BBC red button now. Looked huge! I wonder if Jeff Lynne will tour it? Clearly a massive audience out there, and having put all that together would be a waste not to play some more shows.

saw the Blondie set and then ELO... both were great. Wish I had got tickets to this.

Re: Radio 2 Hyde Park
I thought Blondie were shit. Billy Ocean, on the other hand, had the crowd eating out of his hand.

How long was Billy Ocean on, and what did he do?

The full half hour of Billy Ocean here. Flawless vocals from him at age 64.

Jesus H. I bet this event smelt of stale piss and un-emptied colostomy bags!

I'm seeing Jeff Lynne, but I'm struggling to spot anything vaguely recognisable as ELO.

Is Bevan still with them?

I think Tandy is?

I liked the early ELO with Roy Wood

Re: Radio 2 Hyde Park
Just Tandy I think. To be honest, I don't remember him in the original band!

Re: Radio 2 Hyde Park
Who Tandy or Wood?

Anyway, I think both were original members?

In fact, I loved the Move, great band

Re: Radio 2 Hyde Park
i watched that show last night and was impressed how well he can still sing the songs. also loved him doing the Travelling Wilburys track

Re: Radio 2 Hyde Park
Just Lynne and Tandy... Bevan has retired and after years of legal battles, he sold his rights to the ELO name and now Jeff can use it .... Saw him at the Concert for George but it was great to hear him finally do his own stuff
